PROJECT SHELL (2021)

 PROJECT SHELL is a mixed reality project which puts audiences in the place of newborn Loggerhead Sea Turtles. Users experience firsthand the life-cycle of these majestic creatures, from making their instinctive trek across the beach to the sea as newborn, to nesting and even encountering research scientists in the wild. The project aims to educate audiences about the substantial obstacles threatening these beautiful creatures (and sea life as a whole) by allowing users firsthand experiences with these threats, as well as creating informational context throughout virtual experience.

PROJECT SUPPORT

Project SHELL has garnered support from a number of organizations and institutions including the Sea Turtle Conservancy, National Geographic, the University of Florida MET Lab, Oculus (Facebook), and the Knight Foundation. Together with our grantors, donors, sponsors, and project partners, Project SHELL is poised to premiere at film festivals worldwide in 2021, becoming available to the general public later in the year.
